The only thing more ridiculous than Calipari's contract would be buying it out.

RE: 2023 Coaching Carousel
The very experienced and successful coach at Drake is headed to Morgantown to take the WVU job. He's also bringing his son, who averaged 23 points per game this year as a 6'7" guard and who boasts a very high 3-point field goal percentage and outstanding free throw percentage.
I would expect the Mountaineers to improve rapidly through the transfer portal, the NIL resources they have and the stability that new Coach DeVries will bring to the program. UC needs to continue to improve because there are no patsies in the Big XII.
That means that our deadwood (looking at Jamille Reynolds, Josh Reed and Sage and very likely Victor Lahkin, need to go and we bring in upgrades at their respective positions.

Well said. For UC, standing pat and expecting (wishing, hoping) better results would be a colossal mistake.

I am not sure Reed is someone you want to part with. Plays defense and rebounds. I thought he was huge in the Bradley game and will likely be needed vs Indiana State. Not everyone needs to be a stud so having a defense first role player isn’t a bad option to go when you need it. Vik and Reynolds are not getting it done at their specific role of being offensive frontcourt players. Sage seems like a walk-on player with a scholarship, maybe he does develop and is worth keeping around to build culture.
Ideally I think you want to replace CJ Fredrick( injury not effort or performance), Vik, and Reynold with a combo guard, another big, and wing/forward. Replace the underperforming top of the roster guys first and keep your core plus program culture guys.

Good luck to Pat Kelsey, I don't think I've seen a fanbase more against a hire than this. Fun times in Louisville!

He’s on SportsTalk with Lance nearly every few weeks at Charleston. At Louisville, he’ll probably have a daily segment.

Just curious, was Pat Kelsey even on a candidate list when Wes was hired here?

No one has really been able to lock down candidate lists for any of the previous searches carried out by Cunningham, so there's no real idea if he was or wasn't.
