Rematch with WVU set. Cats now 3 wins away from getting back into the NCAA tournament conversation. My number has been 21 wins and I still believe if they get 3 it’s gets really interesting.

11 seed might be a better spot to accumulate wins depending on who sits at 6th.

I love pomeroy.

UC jumps 4 spots with the win at home and awful WVU drops 17 spots with the L.

I agree with the extra game unless they plan on winning the thing. Their kryptonite is Houston and Iowa State. Everyone else in the league they can hang with.

Wes and the squad close out the season winning two of three and nearly won the Oklahoma game. That's a good sign and something to build on for next year. A shame this type of game wasn't played more at home - likely the difference between an NIT and NCAA birth. A special guest was in the house today...

UC was 28/34 from two. That's 82%. Unreal. And under 30% from three LOL.

Fun way to close out the regular season. Wish Ody had played a bit more, but glad he got the start.

How many alley oops did we convert? Aziz also converted a number of dunks and we got out in transition more effectively. Jamille also had mismatches in the post and Dan converted a bunch of buckets around the rim. i can't remember the last time we crushed it from inside the arc so effectively. Hopefully, the team takes this to heart, especially when they are struggling from three (which seems like every game), and plays inside of the arc.

Games like today just made the @ Oklahoma and vs. Texas games that much more frustrating. We're going to end up 2 points away from the Tourney probably.

And Skillings missing a layup with 8 seconds left against Baylor…

And the two eggs they laid against WVU and OKState.

Bob was a great coach, but folks either forget or don’t realize he dragged UC thru the mud on his way out the door. He did the same when he got booted from WVU but was a bit more public about it.

Add in scheduling a real MTE. If they just grabbed two quad 2 wins we would be having a different conversation. I hope the staff understands and doesn’t over schedule next year. With Xavier, Georgia Tech, and 20 conference games they only need to add two more high level games.

He can sure coach basketball, but all these coaches who think they are bigger than the institution that signs their paycheck come to a bad end. See also Bob Knight.

The problem was Bob, not the presidents or UC or WVU. Time has certainly reinforced this. I just wish people could move on. I wish Bob could.

It was just a standing ovation.

Exactly. It wasn't like Bob got his name dedicated on a wall or for a campus building or street or the like. In the postgame presser, it meant a lot to the staff and the players that he was there dressed in red. IIRC, Wes reached out to Huggs when he inquired about the job. I doubt it was a coincidence that both Kenyon and Corie were in attendance as well.

Yeah, when I saw Kenyon was sitting courtside, I figured Huggs must be in the building too. It was very cool for a pretty meaningless game.
