Yep, the ceiling goes much higher immediately for next season's team if this guy joins the 'Cats. Is there any chatter about Cincinnati's chances to bring him on board?

I feel Wes Miller's program is at a launch point; ready to return to the upper echelon of college basketball. No such thing as too many to tall or too much talent at this point so bring it on.

The procedure involves playing time though, which may be an issue. Wes's message is always that he doesn't promise playing time and looking at the roster, Smith would have to excel to break into the starting lineup. Worse P5 teams can probably promise him starting minutes.

Why is it that only recruits who go to other schools are in it for the money, but the ones that come to UC are here because they just love this random university they barely have any connection to?

They’re all in it for the money anymore. It’s just that O$U has a lot more of it. UC probably offered a decent sum and O$U was able to just look at one of their multiple donors and say “triple it”.

This isn’t about school pride anymore. It really has little to do with college besides the physical location. This is pro sports now.
