Hit a big bet on BYU last night. They've been maybe the most impressive team in the country so far. Up to 9 kenpom and I'm sure their preseason numbers still hinder that a good amount. They do about everything well. Going to be a hell of a big 12 opener.

If you remove the preseason projections from bartorvik the Bearcats are 18th.

No, I misread but agree they'll fall to 4-4. They will have played Purdue, Washington and Houston. That's a pretty brutal early OOC but with no Freemantle. Don't feel a bit sorry but they're record is a bit misleading.

I don't know most of their roster anymore. So which role/bench player goes off for 18+ against us?

The two most talented guys are Desmond Claude (so) and Dailyn Swain (fr). They are likely going to be really damn good players for their entire time at Xavier and really are the two guys that athletically will match up with UC. Neither has shot it very well from outside though.

They have a 6-7 foreign big that has been their best 3 point shooter so far. UC will have to cover that. Trey Green has struggled with his shot to date, but everyone talks about him being one of the best freshman shooters in the country. Olivari is the guy I think is most likely to go off from 3 against UC.

I think UC should abuse them inside. There isn't a single matchup I think will favor them. They are really dependent on a couple of CUSA transfers who are fine but not spectacular. They are probably about as athletic as they were last year, but not nearly as skilled.

I'll never feel good about winning at Cintas where the crowd will be nuts (still their Super Bowl, just look at how insane ticket prices are when the game is at Cintas) and they get an absurd whistle in that building when the crowd is like that. But this is the best opportunity UC has had to win there in some time.

Brannen didn't win his one shot at Cintas which is less nuts (despite him having a pretty damn talented team).

I guess it takes a special team to win AT Xavier. The last 3 teams that won on their floor:
