The two most talented guys are Desmond Claude (so) and Dailyn Swain (fr). They are likely going to be really damn good players for their entire time at Xavier and really are the two guys that athletically will match up with UC. Neither has shot it very well from outside though.

They have a 6-7 foreign big that has been their best 3 point shooter so far. UC will have to cover that. Trey Green has struggled with his shot to date, but everyone talks about him being one of the best freshman shooters in the country. Olivari is the guy I think is most likely to go off from 3 against UC.

I think UC should abuse them inside. There isn't a single matchup I think will favor them. They are really dependent on a couple of CUSA transfers who are fine but not spectacular. They are probably about as athletic as they were last year, but not nearly as skilled.

I'll never feel good about winning at Cintas where the crowd will be nuts (still their Super Bowl, just look at how insane ticket prices are when the game is at Cintas) and they get an absurd whistle in that building when the crowd is like that. But this is the best opportunity UC has had to win there in some time.

Thanks for a great assessment of their newcomers. You mentioned Claude and Swain as young but high potential. In today's world, one has to question whether they'll ever finish their careers at X between the portal and NIL. I happened to hear X fan Bill Cunningham on WLW a few weeks ago and he was riffing on the idea that X can't match the dollar offers from other schools and will be hard pressed to keep up in the brave new world of NIL. It will be interesting to see if that's the case. If so, will Sean Miller stick around at a place where they can't compete for talent as they did in the past?

It's great knowing UC is now in the best basketball conference and anticipating a level of media revenue we'd never dreamed of before. Bearcat basketball is back in so many ways.

The Big 10 has all but Minnesota (who is 135).
The SEC has all but Miss and Vandy (128 and 150)
The BE has all but Georgetown and Depaul (168 and 193)
The PAC 12 has all but Cal and Oregon State (179 and 190...though ASU is exactly 100).
The ACC has BC, Syracuse, GT, Louisvllle and ND all outside the top 100 LOL.

Well, it was close until the mid-point of the first half. Switched to TXAM-Virginia.

St. Joe's about to take down Nova in the Big Five round for one of the chip game spots.

Dayton squeaks by SMU in Dallas. They're pretty good.

Two undefeated go down from the MWC - Bradley and Evansville.

ACC taking it to the SEC thus far...

JD pures two 3’s at the end of the half to give Arkansas a 1 point lead at home vs Duke. Had me yelling in my hotel room.

I went to Fayetteville for the football game and I would love the opportunity to go back to see a game at Bud Walton. It’s electric tonight. Happy for JD!

He wasn't playing much early in the season but I noticed him getting good minutes against unc. Seems like he is tonight too.

From the looks of it, Musselman decided to go small after some early season stagnant on offense, to the benefit of JD.

Arkansas missing its best player and still upsetting Duke was not something I had on my bingo card.

Congrats to JD on great win!

Their best player is Tremon Mark (Houston) but he was out with an injury he sustained during the UNC game (where he was unbelievable).

I was just looking at the box score from last night, so I missed him. Make that a 1/3rd roster from last years AAC

CINCINNATI — Chiefs and former UC tight end Travis Kelce got pop star Taylor Swift a custom gift tied to Cincinnati. The Chiefs tight end bought a pair of red Cincinnati basketball jerseys with the "Cincy" script on the front and their last names on the back.

Check out the latest gift from the famous couple. The image is from seamstress Nancy Roth. The New York Post first reported the story.
